The holidays are upon us and the store shelves are becoming more festive by the hour.  Pretty soon the end caps will be filled with seasonal holiday booze.  Nothing quite compares to the lengths stores go to for the perfect holiday display enticing you, the consumer, into buying their product.

One of the biggest sales during the holiday season is booze.   One of the ways retailers increase their sales is with the use of colorful, seasonal fruit.  The pomegranate, for instance, is a big draw during the holidays, which is why it is featured in this very popular holiday drink.

How to Make a Pomegranate Gin and Tonic

  1. Fill a rocks glass with ice.  We recommend these 9 oz rocks glasses.
  2. Add the pomegranate liqueur.
  3. Add the gin followed by the tonic water. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Garnish with a slice of lime and pomegranate seeds.

The Best Value Gin: Seagram’s Lime Twisted Gin. If you’re looking for a good value gin, this one has a smooth citrus flavor and mixes well with flavored liqueurs.

The Best Everyday Gin: Bombay Sapphire.  This gin is a go to Gin.  It’s on the sweeter side, balances tonic perfectly, and has a subtle floral flavor that enhances the flavor of the pomegranate.

A Good Splurge Gin: The Botanist is delicate gin that has a slight bite on the tongue that is balanced perfectly by the sweetness of the pomegranate.

SIMPLE Holiday Pomegranate Gin & Tonic


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 ounce Pomegranate Liqueur
  • 1 1/2 ounces Gin
  • 3 ounces Tonic Water
  • Lime slice and pomegranate seeds, to garnish

EQUIPMENT NEEDED: 9 oz Rocks Glasses


Instructions

  1. Fill a rocks glass with ice. Add the pomegranate liqueur.
  2. Next, add the gin followed by the tonic water. Stir gently to combine.
  3. Garnish with a slice of lime and pomegranate seeds.
  4. Serve immediately.

Notes

1. If you don’t have Pomegranate Liqueur, you can also use pomegranate juice.

2. To make this recipe non-alcoholic, use pomegranate juice rather than liqueur and leave out the gin.
