How to make a SIMPLE Buttercream Frosting step by step #frosting #buttercream #cake


  • 1 Cup Unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 Cup Vegetable Shortening
  • 4 Cups Powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • ¼ Cup Whole Milk


  1. Cream the butter and shortening in a large mixing bowl with a hand-mixer on medium speed until smooth, light and fluffy.  Add in the vanilla and combine.
  2. Slowly add the powdered sugar 1 cup at a time and continue mixing until smooth, scraping down the bowl as needed.  Continue until all the sugar is fully incorporated
  3. Slowly add in the milk, one tablespoon at a time, while mixing, until reaching the desired consistency.
